Job Description

Now hiring! Centerline Communications, is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor to oversee and manage end‑to‑end small‑cell construction activities to support consistent, high‑quality network installations in the Boston area. This is the perfect position for someone who has experience with heavy equipment, trenching and has experience working in the telecom, or the utility space.

Based in Holbrook MA, the incumbent will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Centerline's safety policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include scheduling, planning, directing work, training employees; analyze production levels and financial reporting; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

What You Will Do

  • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
  • Maintain accurate attendance, manpower needs and site related activities using laptop computer and software
  • Communicate with clients and vendors regarding project updates and other necessary information
  • Responsible for the accounting of job site expenditures and providing accounting with backup documentation
  • Analyzes job site production levels and financial data on a daily basis
  • Perform daily inspection of job site to insure a safe working environment and various crews are prepared to being work
  • Conduct tests and inspection of products and services to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints to how the finished project will look
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standard
  • Work with Operations and Project Managers on plan reviews, design and key contract terms, materials and equipment needed to complete projects
  • Provide recommendations to improve job site performance, saving money and time
  • Perform daily “toolbox talks” regarding job site safety or other site related matter
  • Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
  • Measure, mark, and photograph for dig safe
  • Develop and train field laborers and operators to encourage them to better, grow, and understand their responsibilities
  • Complete field rating system as needed
  • Provide annual review of equipment operators and laborers
  • Provide regular inventory reviews
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Commercial job site experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
  • Working knowledge of the methods, materials and tools used in site excavation and utility work
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively and quickly communicate with Project Management, crew and client
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the public
  • Ability to function in a supervisory role
  • Ability to drive and operate a variety of equipment under varying conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have considerable impacts on the organization
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

What you will need

  • 5+ years’ experience in the telecom or utility construction industry as a foreman or in a supervisory role preferred
  • CDL-A Driver's License & Massachusetts Hoisting License
  • Must be able to operate company vehicle a
  • Ability to make independent judgment and perform repetitive tasks
  • Organizational skills and planning skills to prioritize and balance workloads
  • Regular contact with co-workers and customers
  • Within 90 days of start date, take and pass OSHA-10 Certification
  • Must be able to take and pass, and continue to pass a DOT Physical
  • High school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements

Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 80 lbs continuously

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Drive and operate a vehicle or heavy equipment. Environmental and a variety of weather conditions: exposure is heat, humidity cold, wet, dust, vibration and very loud noise.

Requires the ability to sit for extended periods for driving or sitting at a computer, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and fax machines regularly during the course of work. Work is performed in and out of an office environment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, traveling, and playing a critical role in the successful planning and execution of telecom infrastructure projects across multiple markets.

Expected compensation includes is $80,000 to $105,000 a year and benefits including medical, vision, and dental benefits, and 401k retirement plan available for eligible employees. Compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as an individual’s education, training, experience, skills, geographic location, seniority, merit, and other factors that are job-related and consistent with business need.
