The Construction Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Construction Engineer or Manager in the execution of construction activities across all project phases. This role ensures that construction work is planned, coordinated, and executed in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, and health, safety, and environmental standards.

The position provides on-site leadership and technical support to discipline supervision teams, ensuring that all construction activities are properly prepared, efficiently executed, and aligned with project objectives. The Superintendent plays a key role in coordinating field operations, resolving site issues, and maintaining communication between construction teams, field engineering, and project management.

This role requires strong field experience, technical knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to manage subcontractors and supervision teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely delivery of construction work.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

  • Support execution of construction activities across all project phases
  • Provide technical support to discipline supervision teams to facilitate work execution
  • Ensure proper preparation of construction activities prior to execution
  • Review and coordinate construction deliverables and site activities
  • Interface with field engineering for clarification on design and drawings
  • Prepare and manage reports related to construction progress and activities
  • Assist in preparation and management of extra work orders

Leadership / Management Responsibilities

  • Assign work to discipline supervisors and oversee execution
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure proper coordination of activities
  • Support site leadership in managing daily construction operations
  • Ensure effective communication across construction, engineering, and project teams
  • Identify and escalate issues or impediments impacting construction progress

Compliance / Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure construction activities comply with schedule, quality, and HSE requirements
  • Monitor and control construction performance to meet project objectives
  • Identify and report deficiencies, risks, or construction issues
  • Ensure safe and compliant execution of all site activities
  • Maintain adherence to project procedures and construction standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant field experience in construction or similar industry
  • Strong operational understanding of construction processes
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Ability to supervise and manage experienced subcontractors
  • Fluency in professional English
