The Reconstruction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities related to residential and/or commercial reconstruction projects. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, building codes, and insurance requirements. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, coordinating crews, subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries while maintaining strong communication with project managers, clients, and stakeholders. Primary ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Field Management· Oversee day-to-day on-site operations for reconstruction projects from start to completion · Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and in-house labor · Ensure work is completed according to scope, plans, and specifications · Maintain project schedules and proactively address delays · Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance Scheduling & Coordination· Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules · Coordinate trade sequencing to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime · Schedule inspections and ensure timely approvals from local authorities · Manage material procurement and delivery timelines Quality Control & Compliance· Enforce company quality standards and workmanship expectations · Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes · Verify all work aligns with insurance scope and approved estimates · Identify and resolve construction deficiencies promptly Safety Management· Enforce job site safety protocols and OSHA standards · Conduct regular safety meetings and site audits · Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) · Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site Client & Stakeholder Communication· Act as the on-site point of contact for clients and homeowners · Provide progress updates and address client concerns professionally · Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and adjusters · Maintain clear and consistent communication across all parties Documentation & Reporting· Maintain daily logs, site reports, and progress documentation · Track labor, materials, and subcontractor performance · Document changes, delays, and unforeseen conditions · Assist in change order documentation and approvals
