Project Overview:

Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will focused on integrating construction, safety, logistics, and early execution criteria into project engineering development. Acts as a liaison between engineering and field operations, leading interdisciplinary reviews, construction design decisions, and deliverable follow-up. Brings experience in process plants, concentrator plants, and mining facilities to identify risks, constraints, and interferences, optimize construction methods, and support the implementation of improvements aligned with Bechtel standards.

Major Responsibilities:

Project

• Integrating constructability criteria into engineering, planning, logistics, safety, and execution strategy.
• Leading interdisciplinary reviews, constructability workshops, and follow-up of agreements, risks, and interferences.
• Reviewing engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with field conditions, installation requirements, access, construction sequencing, and safety.
• Evaluating construction strategies for process plants, concentrator plants, major equipment, piping, structural works, civil works, modularization, prefabrication, and lifts.
• Supporting the definition of construction philosophy, strategy, and roadmap, contributing to alignment between engineering, construction, and field operations.
• Promoting the application of Bechtel standards, lessons learned, and construction method improvements during project development.

Non-Project

• Developing or delivering technical and constructability training at corporate or project level.
• Contributing to the development of processes, procedures, proposals, and corporate applications.
• Supporting the implementation of quality management systems and construction best practices.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a university degree, bachelor’s degree, engineering degree, or equivalent international qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.
• Direct experience in construction of mining projects, process plants or concentrator plants, multidisciplinary construction works, major equipment, construction supervision, engineering phases, and early studies is preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid knowledge of constructability, construction sequencing, productivity, logistics, access, and major equipment installation.
• Experience identifying risks, interferences, field constraints, and construction optimization opportunities.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary reviews and workshops with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Safety, Quality, and other project functions.
• Knowledge of applicable standards and procedures for construction, safety, quality, and environmental management.
• Executive perspective to connect design, planning, and field execution, ensuring constructible solutions aligned with project objectives.
• Knowledge of pre-commissioning and commissioning is desirable.
