Audits construction project records; verifies contractor compliance with state and federal requirements and trains others. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  • Advises contractors' bookkeepers on record-keeping procedures.
  • Assists with Federal Highway Administration and departmental reviews of construction records and may act as liaison with
    this agency.
  • Monitors material testing requirements, results and reports for compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Participates in meetings regarding contract administration.
  • Performs and reviews construction records audits and coordinates with area engineers on monthly and final estimates, change orders, supplemental agreements and work orders.
  • Trains less experienced recordkeepers and records auditors.
  • Verifies contractors' compliance with federal requirements for EEO and the on-the-job training, Disadvantaged Business
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.

Experience No experience required.

Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications Valid driver’s license at tie of application. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

  • Standing-prolonged periods of time
  • Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
