HEAPY Solutions continues to grow — and we’re looking for a Construction Project Superintendent to support complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and MEP construction projects in our established Dayton market. This role is ideal for an experienced field leader who enjoys overseeing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and site personnel, solving field challenges, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to schedule and specifications.

What You'll Do
- Lead daily field operations and oversee site personnel, subcontractors, logistics, safety, quality, and project progress
- Monitor construction schedules and daily and weekly progress while proactively identifying potential delays or upcoming challenges
- Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other project stakeholders to support successful project execution
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure work is completed according to project requirements
- Troubleshoot field issues involving personnel, subcontractors, safety, quality, schedule, and construction activities
- Conduct quality inspections and help ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards
- Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, schedules, inspections, change orders, and safety records
- Support a strong culture of safety and serve as the designated HEAPY Solutions safety representative on qualifying projects
Key Responsibilities
The Construction Project Superintendent provides on-site leadership for HEAPY Solutions construction projects, working closely with Project Managers and project teams to coordinate field operations, maintain schedules, ensure quality, and promote a safe and productive jobsite. This role is critical to successful project execution and serves as a key connection between HEAPY, subcontractors, clients, and other project stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintains a clear understanding of HEAPY’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates alignment in all responsibilities and interactions
- Supervises daily construction activities and manages on-site personnel and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements
- Follows project schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved
- Proactively looks ahead at upcoming construction activities and coordinates resources to prevent delays or disruptions
- Leads jobsite meetings with subcontractors and owners to communicate project status, upcoming work, schedule expectations, and field concerns
- Travels regularly to active project sites throughout the Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis markets to provide on-site leadership, oversee field operations, and support project needs.
- Collaborates with Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to coordinate project activities and maintain strong communication
- Reviews and interprets construction plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Troubleshoots and resolves field issues involving personnel, subcontractors, safety, quality, project changes, and construction operations
- Conducts quality inspections of workmanship and materials to verify compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards
- Coordinates site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment, manpower, and other resources necessary to support project execution
- Maintains accurate documentation of field operations, including daily reports, schedules, inspections, change orders, safety records, and other project documentation
- Participates in project progress meetings and collaborates with Project Managers to identify and address potential schedule, quality, safety, or cost concerns
- Serves as the designated safety manager on qualifying HEAPY Solutions projects, conducting site safety audits and inspections and supporting compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements
- Leads Solutions team safety meetings and supports the development of relevant safety training and communication based on project needs and identified risks
- Partners with Project Managers to develop and implement project-specific safety plans based on project scope, site conditions, risk exposure, and client requirements
- Promotes a strong safety culture by ensuring workforce compliance with OSHA regulations, project safety requirements, and contractor safety expectations
- Responds promptly to safety concerns, incidents, and close calls and coordinates corrective actions and follow-up documentation as needed
- Participates in owner, client, and contractor safety meetings when appropriate and represents HEAPY Solutions’ commitment to safe project execution
- Represents HEAPY Solutions culture, maintains positive team morale, and interacts professionally with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Participates in ongoing professional development and actively seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge and leadership skills
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Demands & Work Environment
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction superintendent or field leader, including experience supporting jobsite safety initiatives.
- OSHA 30-hour certification and First Aid/CPR certification are desirable.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, building codes, and industry regulations.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, temperature controls, or broader MEP construction is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate field personnel and subcontractors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead jobsite meetings and communicate project status and upcoming work.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a calm, solutions-oriented approach to resolving field conflicts and challenges.
- Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, accountability, and successful project execution.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to remain sedentary at a desk for periods of time while operating a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and video conferencing.
- Reliable transportation to and from project sites required.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.).
- Ability to access all areas of a job site, including ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
- Ability to move or transport items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Must follow safety guidelines and apply established site protocols.
- Ability to gather, organize, and evaluate information related to project performance, costs, and schedules.
