Provide technical work in the operations, maintenance and construction of transmission, distribution, and substation projects on MidAmerican Energy Company's energy delivery system. Manage field administration of construction contracts, monitoring contactor's work as to quality and quantity, assuring safe work policies and practices, reviewing invoicing for approval, administering change of work orders. Coordinate contractor's work that requires electric system outages by submitting work requests and being the person responsible for the issued clearances. Conduct aerial and foot patrol inspections of the electric transmission, distribution and substation system. Coordinate electric transmission, distribution, and substation patrols, conducted by contractors and review patrols for action items that need to be corrected. Communicate and track conditions requiring remediation to MidAmerican Energy Company engineering, operations, or contractors. Coordinate contractor operations, maintenance and construction work, including storm restoration work.
Provide technical project management for all electric construction phases of a project, or similar contractor activities, including scheduling, design, engineering estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (65%) Anticipates needs, forecasts, schedules, coordinates and oversees contractor and manpower personnel. (15%) Processing and payment of contractor invoicing. (10%) Provide technical assistance to other departments. (5%) Provides technical leadership to staff and technical input to assist in development of project planning. (5%) Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques.
Bachelor's degree in a technical related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
One year of industry experience.
