Job Description

Position: Construction Project Manager

Salary Range: R25,000 – R35,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage their site operations in both petrochemical and general construction projects. If you are well-organised, dedicated to safety, and skilled at coordinating diverse teams in a fast-paced environment, this role is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily site construction operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Independently prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and comprehensive HSE documentation.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate supervisors, team leaders, and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
  • Compile and submit detailed daily progress reports, maintaining accurate and current project documentation.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project plans with precision.
  • Strategically plan, schedule, and track construction milestones to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, HSE, and project management teams to swiftly resolve on-site technical challenges and delays.
  • Oversee procurement, control, and management of site materials, tools, and equipment efficiently.
  • Lead and participate in site meetings with engineers, clients, and key project stakeholders to maintain clear communication and alignment.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), including accurate quantity verification and ongoing tracking.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in construction or site management roles.
  • Possession of a valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Desirable: Experience in petrochemical or industrial project environments and relevant HSE or construction certifications.
