Join Hastings Deering as a Construction Project Manager

We’re seeking an experienced and commercially minded Construction Project Manager to support our Central Queensland operations, based in Mackay. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday.

The role is responsible for end-to-end project management, including the planning, design, procurement, budgeting, construction, and handover of facilities, buildings, structures, and infrastructure projects across our Operations in QLD and NT.

You will oversee both greenfield developments and refurbishment initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational design standards, regulatory compliance, and project-specific requirements. The role is also accountable for achieving key construction delivery performance indicators and for managing external consultants and contractors, including quantity surveyors, architects, engineers, and certifiers.

You’ll bring a customer-focused mindset to construction, ensuring each project not only meets technical standards, but enhances functionality, efficiency, and the day-to-day experience for our people and customers across our footprint.

You’re a results-driven project leader who thrives on delivering high-quality outcomes in complex environments. With a strong focus on both operational delivery and stakeholder experience, you know how to bring projects to life successfully and sustainably.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in client-side construction project management within large, complex organisations
• A strong track record managing diverse, multi-phase projects from concept to completion
• Expertise in risk management with a clear commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated success leading project teams and driving outcomes
• Consistent delivery against key project KPIs, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to specification
