Construction Project Manager

We have a great career opportunity for a Construction Project Manager in an international leading renewable energy company with a representative office in Kyiv.

Our Partner initiates, plans and builds wind and solar projects worldwide. The Company is an independent power producer (IPP) that executes large-scale international projects as a general contractor and takes over technical and commercial management as an asset manager. In addition, our Partner has a technological competence and develops AI solutions for renewable energies.

We are currently looking for a skilled specialist who will lead the end-to-end delivery of wind-farm construction from late development and pre-construction through execution, commissioning, and handover ensuring safety, quality, time, and budget targets are met while coordinating all internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership
- Build, coach, and lead the site team (site managers, HSE, QA/QC, supervisors, etc.)
- Foster a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

2. Schedule, Budget
- Own an integrated master schedule and control thresholds; enforce recovery plans on critical path
- Own the project budget and contingency; steer cost/value engineering and cash flow

3. Reporting
- Manage construction reports: HSE, progress, milestone outlook, cash / commitments, variation orders / claims, risk matrix, and lender / stakeholders compliance
- Manage covenants reporting
- Chair progress meetings; ensure timely approvals of deliverables and tests

4. Pre-Construction & Mobilization
- Set up site infrastructure: site offices / containers, storage, sanitary facilities & wastewater, power (temporary & fixed), internet, lighting, fencing, access roads, signage
- Support tendering / negotiations for (civils, electrical, substation, OHL, SCADA, security, site services)
- Develop Construction Risk Register; define mitigation and contingency plans
- Establish Document Control System and permits-to-work

5. Construction
- Full accountability for the construction phase: BoP (foundations, roads & crane pads, MV/HV cabling, substation, OHL, SCADA), crane/mobilization plans, WTG delivery & erection
- Full accountability for the commissioning phase

6. HSE Leadership
- Ensure compliance with national law and best practice, incident reporting, and emergency response
- Oversee environmental & biodiversity measures and archaeological supervision where required

7. Contracts, Claims & Governance
- Manage EPC / BoP contracts: change orders, early warnings, claims / defences, EOTs, and close-out
- Maintain compliance with company governance and audit requirements

Qualifications and professional experience:

• 10+ years delivering large energy / infrastructure projects; wind farm experience in construction preferred
• Clear communication in Ukrainian & English (German is a plus)
• Experience with IFI / lender-financed projects and audit requirements (EBRD / IFC / DFC or similar)
• Degree in Engineering, Project / Construction Management
