Our Company , 18 vertically integrated companies that operate in the built environment. We have the human and financial resources, and experience to participate in the conceptualisation, assessment of feasibility, planning, design, construction and construction supervision, operation and maintenance of projects.

Please note, we are currently only looking for:

  • Professional Electrical Engineer (Solar)
  • Project Construction Manager

The Company perates in the following sectors:

  • Agriculture (greenhouses, packhouses and distribution facilities)
  • Education (lecture halls, classrooms and infrastructure for schools and universities)
  • Energy (low and medium voltage reticulation, and photovoltaic installations)
  • Government buildings (prisons, police stations, military bases and courts)
  • Health (hospitals and clinics)
  • Housing (low cost, social and middle income, single and multi-unit dwellings, and infrastructure)
  • Logistics (warehouses and cargo terminals)
  • Mining (infrastructure, haul roads and incline shafts)
  • Property (parking garages, shopping centres and office buildings)
  • Transportation (roads, railways, airports and harbours)
  • Water and sanitation (waste-water treatment, pipelines and reservoirs)
  • Waste management (recycling facilities and landfills).

To provide the services described above, the group employs architects, construction managers, economists, engineers, environmentalists, facility managers, financial analysts, health and safety officers, project managers, quantity surveyors, town planners and visualisation specialists. The Group also employs cleaners, landscapers, waste management staff and construction workers.

Delta Built Environment Consultants (Delta BEC) is the professional consulting arm of the DELTA group and we have an opening for an experienced project manager.

JOB TITLE

Professional Construction Project Manager

OF POSITION

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the successful implementation of various projects. Delta BEC requires its project managers to not only manage projects but to proactively participate in the scoping and integration of projects, and to ensure that projects meet clients expectations in terms of cost and quality. The position therefore requires an experienced individual that understands all aspects of the built environment and can work independently on projects with minimum oversight.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of projects and duties will include:

  • Manage projects in line with international best practice
  • Plan projects in terms of
    • Project scope
    • Project schedule
    • Project costs
  • Manage the execution of projects
    • Manage project execution within agreed scope, cost and schedule constraints
    • Implement project quality system
    • Manage project resources
    • Lead and coordinate professional teams
    • Lead and supervise construction contracts
    • Manage project communication, including client, user and stakeholders
    • Manage project risks
    • Manage project procurement
    • Conduct technical and contract meetings
  • Assist in preparation of fee proposals and bids
  • Administering building contracts (JBCC, etc.)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The successful candidate will have more than 5 years project management experience in the consulting in the built environment, with a good understanding of the full project lifecycle and project management principles.

QUALIFICATION

BSc. Construction Studies/BSc. Construction Management/BSc. Quantity Surveying/or equivalent

PMP/SACPCMP registered.

SKILLS

  • A working knowledge of typical construction contracts (JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, GCC)
  • MS Office literacy
  • MS Project literacy
  • PM Bok literacy
  • Thorough understanding of the project life cycle
  • Good understanding of building construction projects
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Able to conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with clients and other stakeholders

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Built environment corporate office.
  • Regular construction site environment for construction project progress inspections and meetings
