Job Description

Great projects start with great planning! As our Construction Planner, you’ll sit at the heart of project delivery - developing, analysing and managing programmes that guide teams from concept through to handover across a diverse commercial project portfolio.

About us

GemLife is one of Australia’s fastest-growing developers of luxury over-50s residential resorts. We're known for our architecturally designed resorts, premium facilities, and exceptional lifestyle experiences. As a newly ASX listed company, we foster a positive and inclusive culture built on passion, integrity, and respect. For more about what we do, please head to www.gemlife.com.au

In this role, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end construction planning across our commercial projects. You’ll develop detailed, logic-driven programmes, monitor performance, identify risks early and work closely with project teams to maintain momentum on site.

You’ll be across both preconstruction and delivery teams, providing practical, real-world planning support that aligns programme, cost, procurement and resources.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes with Microsoft Project.
  • Work closely with construction, commercial, design and procurement teams to ensure programme alignment.
  • Produce lookahead programmes and clear progress reports for teams and leadership.
  • Integrate subcontractor and supplier programmes into master schedules.
  • Lead a best practice planning and project controls culture across commercial projects.
  • Analyse critical paths, float and schedule risk and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Produce "what if" scenarios and recommendations when slippage occurs.
  • Build baseline schedules covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Undertake regular travel to project sites to support construction teams and ensure programmes are accurately implemented on site

What you'll bring to the role:

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience as a Construction Planner or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Project/Primavera.
  • A background with commercial construction and proven experience supporting live construction projects with real world challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders and site management.
  • The ability to take ownership, think ahead and spots risks before they become issues.

What it's like to work at GemLife:

  • Being a crucial part of a team that values your feedback, contributions, and supports your growth and development
  • Permanent full-time role with flexible start/finish times
  • A company experiencing massive growth and career opportunities for the team
  • Flare Retail discounts, Fitness Passport subsidised, and corporate uniform allowance

If you're a Construction Planner who wants to do more than scheduling and influence project outcomes, we'd love to hear from you and see why you're the next person to join GemLife!
