The Construction Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in collaborating with the Construction Project Manager, General Contractors, and Subcontractors to ensure construction projects are executed smoothly and remain on schedule. This position is responsible for managing specific aspects of remodel and new store projects, including overseeing comprehensive store redesign efforts.
Responsibilities
- Project Execution Collaborate closely with the Construction Project Manager to facilitate the design and execution of construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and project milestones throughout their lifecycle.
- Safety Commitment Uphold the Compass for Excellence and Core Values daily, prioritizing safety for Team Members, Vendors, and Guests at all times.
- Liaison Role Act as the main point of contact between the Construction Project Manager and contractors/subcontractors, providing regular updates and ensuring all project details are documented throughout the construction process.
- Logistics Management Safely operate a 28-foot delivery box truck, forklift, and electric pallet jack to deliver materials and items to various job sites.
- Tools and Equipment Skillfully operate power tools for diverse construction tasks, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of construction knowledge and project management experience in a related field.
- Leadership Skills Demonstrated ability to lead by example and think strategically.
- Organization Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management abilities.
- Communication Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Time Management Effective at managing time and prioritizing tasks.
- Mentorship Willingness to learn and mentor others within the team.
- Technical Skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and Teams for project management purposes.
- Physical Capability Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects (over 50 pounds) regularly.
Work Environment
- Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions, fumes, odors, and noise.
- Flexibility in schedule is required, including weekends, holidays, and early morning or night shifts as needed.
