Required
- Minimum 7 years of construction management experience working within the Miami market in the US.
- Minimum **15 years of progressive construction industry experience **
- **5 or more of those years in roles of Senior Project Manager over multiple Teams and managing client/ Project Executive or more senior. **
- Must have experience working directly with the top 5
- Proven experience leading multiple Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
- Strong client-facing leadership experience with owners, developers, architects, and executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Strong understanding of contracts, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and project controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to lead teams while maintaining a high level of accountability and professionalism.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field.
- Experience with ultra-luxury residential, hospitality, estate, restoration, or specialty construction projects.
- Experience working within multinational or internationally recognized construction organizations.
- Experience managing projects exceeding $25M in value.
A multinational construction firm specializing in ultra-luxury condominium, hospitality, estate, restoration, and specialty construction projects is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Director to join its Miami leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this individual will be responsible for the operational leadership, client management, project execution, team development, and financial performance of multiple projects and project teams throughout South Florida.
This is a leadership role for a proven construction executive who understands how to build and maintain trusted client relationships while driving accountability, performance, and results across multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate must take ownership of assigned projects and teams and ensure they consistently deliver exceptional client experiences, financial results, and project outcomes.
The Construction Operations Director serves as the senior operational leader responsible for managing a portfolio of ultra-luxury construction projects while leading Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams. This individual will act as the executive liaison between ownership, clients, consultants, and internal teams while ensuring all projects meet company standards for safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction.
YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and oversee multiple Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams across a portfolio of ultra-luxury condominium/penthouse, hospitality, estate, and specialty construction projects.
- Own the operational performance, execution strategy, and overall success of assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, communication protocols, and performance standards for all project personnel.
- Ensure consistency in project delivery, client communication, financial management, scheduling, quality control, and team performance.
- Mentor, coach, and develop Project Managers and Superintendents to strengthen leadership capabilities and create a pipeline of future operational leaders.
- Conduct regular project reviews to identify risks, remove obstacles, and drive timely decision-making.
- Partner with executive leadership on recruiting, staffing, workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving throughout the organization.
- Monitor workload distribution and resource allocation to ensure project teams are properly staffed and positioned for success.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational procedures, best practices, and company standards.
- Serve as a leadership resource to project teams, providing guidance on complex project challenges, client issues, contract administration, and team management matters.
Client & Relationship Management
- Serve as the executive point of contact for owners, developers, architects, designers, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients through consistent communication, trust, and exceptional project delivery.
- Lead client meetings, executive reviews, project updates, and strategic planning discussions.
- Resolve project challenges and conflicts while protecting client relationships and company interests.
- Represent the company in a professional manner that reflects the firm's reputation for excellence and luxury craftsmanship.
- Ensure client expectations are aligned with project objectives, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Project Oversight & Execution
- Maintain accountability for project performance related to schedule, budget, quality, safety, staffing, and client satisfaction.
- Review and monitor project financials, forecasts, procurement strategies, staffing plans, contracts, and risk exposure.
- Ensure project teams maintain proactive communication, accurate reporting, and complete documentation.
- Support preconstruction efforts, budgeting, estimating reviews, value engineering, procurement, and project planning.
- Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to protect project outcomes.
- Monitor project milestones and key deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Assist teams in resolving complex construction, operational, and client-related challenges.
Financial Management
- Maintain accountability for the profitability and financial health of assigned projects.
- Review budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, cost reports, and change management processes.
- Ensure project teams maintain financial discipline and meet profitability targets.
- Participate in contract negotiations and risk management discussions when necessary.
- Drive accountability for project performance, financial reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations on operational planning, staffing strategies, and business objectives.
- Support company growth initiatives through operational excellence and client retention.
- Assist in developing and implementing company standards, systems, and best practices.
- Participate in executive leadership discussions regarding resource allocation, organizational growth, and long-term planning.
- Contribute to building a high-performance culture focused on accountability, client service, and continuous improvement.
