Location Makati City

We are hiring a Construction Manager to lead the on-site execution of communication systems (COMS) and automated fare collection systems (AFCS) for a major infrastructure project. The role is project-based and ideal for a hands-on leader with expertise in managing complex rail or telecom construction activities.

Your Responsibilities:

🛠 Project Execution & Scheduling

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive construction schedules in coordination with the team.

  • Ensure resource availability and timely procurement of materials and equipment.

  • Monitor daily progress, address potential delays, and realign project milestones as needed.

  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to meet technical and contractual project goals.

🚧 Site Operations Management

  • Supervise fieldwork related to fiber optics, GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway), structured cabling, and related subsystems.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with engineering designs and standards.

  • Lead quality assurance activities including site testing and documentation of results.

  • Resolve site challenges in real-time to maintain continuous workflow.

⚠️ Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce health and safety regulations, including DOLE Department Order No. 13 and the Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) standards.

  • Lead toolbox talks and site safety briefings to ensure a zero-incident environment.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.

👷 Team & Resource Leadership

  • Manage daily activities of site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Allocate manpower and tools efficiently across various stages of the project.

  • Mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable work culture.

🤝 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, QA/QC, Design) and external partners (railway authorities, clients).

  • Represent the construction function in meetings and provide regular project status updates.

  • Ensure all stakeholders are aligned through clear and consistent communication.

💰 Budget & Change Management

  • Track construction-related expenditures and manage resources within approved budgets.

  • Evaluate and document scope changes or variation orders in collaboration with project controls.

  • Provide input on construction feasibility and cost implications during project review.

📝 Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records including daily site logs, inspection reports, and progress summaries.

  • Support reporting requirements for audits, handovers, and client presentations.

What our Client is Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure projects, preferably involving telecom or rail systems.
  • Familiarity with systems such as COMS (fiber optic networks, GSM-R, transmission systems) and AFCS (ticketing, gates, validators).
  • Strong command of project scheduling tools
  • Adept in handling multidisciplinary teams and fast-paced construction environments.
  • Knowledge of Philippine safety codes and regulatory frameworks for infrastructure.
