Construction Manager (Data Center Operations & Turnover)

Cheyenne, WY | Onsite

Owner's Representative | Mission Critical Infrastructure

About the Role

We are seeking a Construction Manager to support a hyperscale data center campus through late-stage construction, commissioning, turnover, warranty management, and operational readiness activities.

This role will act as the owner's representative and work closely with contractors, commissioning teams, operations personnel, designers, and trade partners to ensure infrastructure is delivered safely, correctly, and ready for operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong construction management experience with expertise in contractor accountability, deficiency management, building turnover, and mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Construction & Contractor Management

  • Serve as the owner's representative during construction completion and turnover phases.
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, trade partners, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and drive issue resolution.
  • Review schedules, recovery plans, and milestone commitments.

Turnover & Operational Readiness

  • Lead turnover readiness reviews and support building handover activities.
  • Ensure construction deliverables, as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and training requirements are complete.
  • Coordinate between construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Validate systems are ready for occupancy and operational acceptance.

Commissioning Support

  • Support commissioning activities and system testing efforts.
  • Track commissioning issues and follow corrective actions through closure.
  • Participate in startup, integrated systems testing, and readiness reviews.
  • Verify commissioning deliverables meet owner requirements.

Warranty & Deficiency Management

  • Manage punch list and warranty tracking processes.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure deficiencies are documented, assigned, monitored, and closed.
  • Support post-turnover issue resolution and facility stabilization activities.

Quality & Safety

  • Perform site walks and field observations.
  • Verify work is completed in accordance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Support safety initiatives and contractor compliance efforts.
  • Escalate quality or safety concerns as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • 5-15 years of construction management experience.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, industrial facilities, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Owner's representative, construction management, commissioning, QA/QC, turnover, operations, or superintendent experience.

Technical Experience

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Data center construction
  • Commissioning
  • Turnover and closeout
  • Warranty management
  • MEP systems
  • Electrical infrastructure
  • Mechanical systems
  • Building management systems (BMS)
  • Contractor coordination
  • Quality assurance / quality control

Tools & Systems

Experience with:

  • Procore
  • Bluebeam
  • Primavera P6
  • BIM platforms
  • Construction documentation systems
  • Commissioning and issue tracking platforms

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $95.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
