Job Description

Total Resourcing Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Manager – Mechanical to join our client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical construction activities, ensuring all mechanical systems are installed and commissioned safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

You will coordinate mechanical construction operations, manage subcontractors, and work closely with engineers and project managers to deliver complex mechanical projects on time and within budget. Your leadership and technical expertise will play a critical role in the success of mechanical construction projects, particularly within high safety and regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise mechanical construction activities on site.
  • Manage mechanical subcontractors and workforce to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams including engineers and managers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor progress and performance, providing regular reports on schedule, budgets, and quality.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting mechanical construction work promptly.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement within mechanical construction.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 10 years’ experience managing mechanical construction projects, preferably in nuclear or industrial settings.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and large construction teams on-site.
  • Strong skills in project planning, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing project priorities.
  • Previous experience with CANDU Refurbishment or similar nuclear projects would be advantageous.
