Position Title:  Construction Manager I

Position Location:  Location varies by assignment.75–100% travel across the U.S.unlessassigned to an extended project. Mustbelocatednear a major USairport.

The ConstructionManager I (CMI)supportsthe contractor and/or owner’s representative throughout all phases of a construction project,helping toensurethatthe project’sscope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and complianceobjectivesare met. This roleassistswithOwner’s Representative and Construction Management responsibilities, coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and operations stakeholders.

The CMIcontributes to the constructionprocess from pre-construction through turnover and closeout,supportingstructured reporting, risk management, and decision-making.

TheCMIwill receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects,tasksor assignments.  May work independently, consistently exercising discretion and independent judgment on individual work, or may work under immediate supervision.  May serve as lead on routine projects,tasksor assignments of limited scope.

TheCMIwill communicate andoperatein line with organizational and client goals and values, as well as departmentalobjectives.

Essential Functions

ProjectSupport& Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support the administration of contracts andassistwith project and coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and project partners to track and help resolve issues.
  • Assistin managing project progression from design through as-built by reviewing, monitoring, and documenting deliverables.
  • Support adherence to budget, schedule, and contract requirements whilemaintainingalignment with owner standards and programobjectives.
  • Track project budget and schedule status,identifypotential impacts, andassistin developing recommended solutions.
  • Participate in contract administration activities, including bid/evaluation support and preconstruction planning.

Construction Administration & FieldCoordination

  • Support construction administration by tracking submittals, RFI responses, and field documentation.
  • Maintain andissue risk log;assistin verifying that work aligns with design intent and quality expectations.
  • Assistin the completion and tracking of closeout documents and requirements.
  • Provide field presence toobserveprogress and verify that installations meet drawings, specifications, and owner standards.
  • Support coordination efforts to promote constructability, maintainability, and compliance.

Reporting, Communications & Client Experience

  • Prepare andmaintainregular progress reports,identifyingkey updates, challenges, and priorities.
  • Support the creation of owner-facing materials, visuals, and key metrics using established reporting tools and templates.
  • Contribute toeffective communication with internal teams, contractors, and clients through clear andtimelyupdates.
  • Support client engagement efforts and represent the company professionally in all interactions.
  • Assistin preparing materials for proposals, presentations, and interviews.
  • Support program-level initiatives and helpidentifyopportunities for process improvement and client support.

Technology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency

  • Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.
  • Identifyopportunities to improve processes anddemonstratea continuous learning mindset, seeking outnew technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.
  • Adapt toemergingtechnologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.

Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

Position Requirements (intermediatelevel for all the following)

  • Knowledge of commissioning processes for electrical, mechanical, andcontrolssystems in mission-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, project management and constructionproceduresand best practices.
  • ​Knowledge of materials, methods andthe toolsinvolved in the construction of mission critical, commercialbuildingsor other structures.
  • Knowledge of the importance of the Method of Procedure (MOP) process and work notifications.
  • Skilled in clear, concise communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled at using construction management software such as Procore.
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
  • Ability toleverageAI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows,optimizeoperational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents,reportsand correspondence.
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with onsite and remote team members.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues.

  • Frequentlymanipulatingsmall parts/tools
  • Frequently required to remain in a stationary position
  • Frequently moving through data center and outdoor environments (heat, cold, precipitation), including navigating tight spaces, accessing areas via stairs or ladders, and occasionally working in overhead or under-equipment positions.
  • Onoccasionthe employee may move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license andthe abilityto rent vehicles.
  • 75–100% travel across the U.S. unlessassigned to an extended project (>6 months; typical assignments 9 months–4 years).
  • Ability torelocatewithin 1–3 months ifrequired(when 100% travelisn’tsupported).
  • Effective May 7,2025,andin accordance withU.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) isrequiredfor travel associated with this position.
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees,meetingsfor business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
  • Travel may involve transportation by car or plane depending on the destination and nature of the businessneeds.

CERTIFICATIONS & SAFETY

  • Ability to achieve NFPA 70E and/or OSHA training asrequired; strict adherence to HSE/LOTO policies.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, constructionmanagement, or related discipline

OR

  • Two years ofhands‑on install/testing/validation/troubleshooting of mechanical, controls, and/or electrical infrastructure

PLUS

  • Minimum ofthreeyears ofadditionalrelatedexperience
