The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of construction and facilities maintenance projects in the field, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to quality standards. This role partners closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients to drive successful project outcomes.
· Oversee daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work complies with plans, specifications, and quality standards
· Coordinate the sequencing and scheduling of subcontractors, trades, and site labor
· Monitor project progress against schedule and budget, addressing delays proactively
· Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular progress reports to senior leadership
· Enforce site safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
· Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
· Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily logs, inspection reports, and incident reports
· Respond to emergency service calls outside normal business hours as needed to meet client needs
· Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring work meets contractual and quality requirements
· Review and approve subcontractor pay applications in partnership with Project Management
· Resolve field-level conflicts between trades and vendors
· Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, and inspectors
· Communicate project status, risks, and changes to internal and external stakeholders
· Support change order identification and documentation
· Conduct quality inspections throughout each phase of construction
· Identify and resolve field issues, coordinating with design and engineering teams as needed
· Ensure punch list items are completed and closed out prior to project completion
· Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional development support to field staff to promote growth and retention
· Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of new construction personnel
This position directly supervises field superintendents, foremen, and/or site labor, and provides work direction to subcontractors on assigned projects.
