Office Location: Any Australian State (Flexible)

Employment Type: Full‑time

Travel: Regular project‑based travel across Australia

Division: National Remedial Major Projects Team

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to support and oversee the delivery of major remedial, structural, and refurbishment projects. This is a nationally focused role, meaning you may be based in any Australian state, with travel to major project sites as required.

This position does not manage national business operations. Instead, you will provide specialised construction oversight, leadership, and technical support on key projects where your expertise is needed most.

You will work closely with regional delivery teams to ensure alignment in safety, construction methodologies, quality, and execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities

National Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide leadership and direction to construction, project, and site teams across all states.
  • Drive operational consistency, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee national performance metrics, cost control, risk management, and project governance.
  • Contribute to executive-level planning and growth strategies.
  • Project Delivery Oversight
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required technical and quality standards.
  • Review methodologies, staging, temporary works, and engineering solutions for complex projects.
  • Provide senior support for high-risk, high-value, or technically challenging works.
  • Lead national quality assurance, compliance, and operational governance.|

    People, Culture & Capability
  • Mentor and develop Construction Managers, Project Managers, and emerging leaders.
  • Support national workforce planning, recruitment, and capability uplift.
  • Drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and safety-first leadership.

    Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key national clients, engineers, and delivery partners.
  • Represent the business at senior stakeholder forums and industry engagements.
  • Ensure strong alignment with client expectations and contractual requirements.

    What We’re Looking For
    Essential Requirements
  • Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within remedial, structural, civil, or complex refurbishment construction.
  • Strong technical understanding of remedial engineering, concrete repair, structural strengthening, façade upgrades, coatings, marine works, or industrial remediation.
  • Proven capability leading large, geographically dispersed construction teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contracts, claims, and project governance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel interstate regularly.

    Desirable Background
  • Experience in brownfield or live operational environments.
  • Exposure to high‑risk works such as marine structures, bridges, façades, industrial facilities, and stadiums.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

    Why Join Us?
  • National leadership role with significant influence and autonomy
  • Flexible base location in any Australian state
