The UGL Transmission & Utilities team designs, constructs and maintains critical infrastructure across the water and power sectors. Ranging from wastewater treatment plants to power stations. We design and construct the following assets; power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, water and wastewater treatment plans and water pipelines.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager from an electrical background to join our Transmission & Utilities division on an exciting project in the renewables sector. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take ownership of construction delivery, providing leadership across project teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards

This role is on a 2:1 roster, Drive-In-Drive-Out from Perth

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage construction activities to achieve project objectives relating to safety, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate and stage construction works across complex project environments.
  • Ensure projects are adequately resourced with the required workforce, subcontractors and equipment
  • Monitor project progress, performance and financial outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Lead, mentor and develop high-performing project teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support best-practice project delivery

About You

You are a proven construction leader with extensive experience delivering projects in complex operating environments. You thrive in fast-paced project settings and have the ability to motivate teams, manage competing priorities and deliver results.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Minimum 10 years' construction industry experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Electrical background
  • Demonstrated experience leading construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS/OHS, environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing HSEQ performance and contractor compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive industry experience.
