Construction Maintenance Specialist
Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Construction Maintenance Specialist to support corrosion assessment, cathodic protection, construction, and maintenance projects.
The starting pay for this position is $32.92/hr. Your pay will increase to $34.56/hr. once completing the six (6) month probationary period.
A day in the life of a Construction Maintenance Specialist may include:
- Assisting Construction Maintenance Leads with preparing job sites for construction or maintenance projects
- Pre-cutting cores and assisting other Construction Maintenance Specialists with cutting and pulling cores in preparation for vacuum truck operations
- Assisting vacuum truck operators with digging holes on job sites
- Preparing dump trucks and core trucks for safe and effective operations on job sites
- Working with construction crews to clean up debris from job sites and put away core setting tools
- Reading and fixing test stations
- Cutting spare cores and cleaning up broken cores and/or concrete piles as needed
Who You Are:
- Demonstrated experience performing semi-skilled construction and/or corrosion assessment duties
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
- Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is valued
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exerts in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Heavy Work.
- Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
