Job Description
CCI Mechanical, LLC is growing and looking for a motivated Intern to support our Construction Business Line. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on federal construction projects within a general contracting and self-performing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) environment.
As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and field teams, gaining exposure to both office and jobsite operations. You’ll support project planning, coordination, design review, and field execution while learning how complex federal construction projects are delivered from start to finish.
This position will report locally to Holt, FL
The salary range for this position is $22-30/hour
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist with daily construction project activities, both in the office and on job sites
• Support project managers with scheduling, documentation, and coordination of work
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and basic estimating tasks
• Help prepare and organize project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and reports
• Participate in jobsite meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-ups
• Monitor jobsite progress and report on productivity, safety, and quality
• Support safety initiatives by helping ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers as directed
• Perform general administrative and project support tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong interest in construction, engineering, or project management
• Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
