We're looking for a Final Trim Grader Foreperson to join our Construction team in Central Otago. You'll lead crews on-site while operating grader equipment to deliver high-quality final trim and finishing works across a range of pavement construction projects. Combining hands-on expertise with strong leadership, you'll play a key role in safely delivering projects that create, connect and care for our communities.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
As a Final Trim Grader Foreperson, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of earthworks, pavement and civil construction activities while remaining actively involved in machine operations. You'll use your advanced grading skills and GPS machine control experience to achieve accurate construction outcomes while coordinating crews, plant and subcontractors on site. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys leading from the front, mentoring others and taking pride in delivering quality work safely and efficiently.

Lead and coordinate site crews to safely deliver construction activities to programme.
Operate grader equipment to achieve precise final trim and finished surface requirements.
Utilise GPS and machine control technology to deliver accurate levels and specifications.
Plan daily activities, allocate resources and coordinate plant, labour and materials.
Conduct pre-start meetings and promote a positive safety culture across the team.
Work closely with Supervisors, Engineers and Project Managers to achieve project milestones.
Monitor productivity, quality and workmanship standards across site operations.
Mentor and develop operators and crew members to build capability within the team.
Complete site documentation, inspections and reporting requirements.

Proven experience operating graders in a civil construction environment.
Extensive final trim and GPS machine control experience.
Previous experience leading crews as a Foreperson, Leading Hand or Senior Operator.
Strong understanding of earthworks, pavements and civil construction methodologies.
Ability to read plans, set priorities and coordinate day-to-day construction activities.
A demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Strong communication and people leadership skills.
Class 2, 4 or 5 licence and relevant endorsements preferred.
A positive attitude and commitment to Fulton Hogan's REAL values.
