Our Client is a respected and growing construction organization specializing in commercial construction services across multiple markets throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. As growth continues, Our Client is seeking an experienced Construction Executive – Division 8 (Doors, Frames & Hardware) to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and business growth for its Division 8 operations in the Florida market.

The Construction Executive – Division 8 is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial success, and strategic growth of the Doors, Frames & Hardware division. This executive-level role will oversee project management, estimating, operations, customer relationships, business development, and team leadership while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Division 8 construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing large-scale commercial projects and high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Leadership & Operations

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all Division 8 operations.

  • Develop and execute business plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.

  • Lead and mentor project managers, estimators, field personnel, and support staff.

  • Establish performance goals, KPIs, and accountability measures across the division.

  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, professionalism, and operational excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual requirements.

Financial Management

  • Maintain full responsibility for divisional P&L performance.

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial objectives.

  • Monitor project profitability, labor productivity, and overall financial performance.

  • Review project costs, change orders, billing, and financial reporting.

  • Implement strategies to improve operational efficiencies and maximize profitability.

Project Oversight

  • Oversee all phases of Division 8 projects from preconstruction through closeout.

  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements.

  • Review project schedules, manpower plans, procurement activities, and risk management strategies.

  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve challenges and maintain client satisfaction.

  • Ensure quality control standards are consistently met across all projects.

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, consultants, and vendors.

  • Identify new business opportunities and support strategic growth initiatives.

  • Participate in contract negotiations and project pursuit activities.

  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings.

  • Develop long-term partnerships that generate repeat business opportunities.

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top industry talent.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning initiatives.

  • Foster employee engagement, professional development, and leadership growth.

  • Support workforce planning and organizational development efforts.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Division 8 (Doors, Frames & Hardware) construction.

  • Proven experience managing large commercial construction projects and multiple project teams.

  • Strong knowledge of Division 8 products, specifications, installation practices, and industry standards.

  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, financial performance, and operational processes.

  • Experience leading business development and client relationship initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and risk management.

Preferred

  • Experience overseeing multi-million-dollar Division 8 portfolios.

  • Knowledge of healthcare, education, government, hospitality, and commercial construction markets.

  • Experience with ERP, project management, and estimating software platforms.

  • Industry certifications related to construction management or Division 8 specialties.
