ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are currently looking for dedicated Construction HEAVY HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS to join our skilled teams.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Operate blade, dozer, excavator, loader, rollers and backhoe
  2. Grade checking experience preferred
  3. Observe hand signals, markings and/or grade stakes while operating equipment
  4. Ability to operate various types of equipment safely, including - blades, dozers, excavators, loaders, rollers and backhoes.
  5. Must be willing to do some manual labor
  6. Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed
  7. Other duties assigned as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)

  1. Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed.
  2. Ability to work for long hours in all weather conditions.
  3. Ability to work as part of a team.
  4. Ability to work on weekends, public holidays, and at night.
  5. Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and be on your feet for long periods of time and perform physically demanding tasks.
  6. Knowledge of road and traffic regulations.
  7. Must have strong work ethic.
  8. Communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
  9. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  10. Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Proven work experience as a construction laborer.
  2. Experience with heavy construction machinery.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent.
  4. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is preferred.
