Construction Electrical Manager - Kolwezi, RDC - H/F

Context :

Gladys Synergies is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients, a player in the energy and construction sector, a Construction Electrical Manager in order to manage and supervise the electrical construction work of an energy project based in Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Under a 15-month contract, the future employee will be responsible for overseeing all electrical work on the project, particularly on the installations Utility-scale solar PV, BESS, 33kV/HV and overhead transmission lines while ensuring compliance with technical requirements, HSE, deadlines, budget and project standards.

Missions & Responsibilities:

As Construction Electrical Manager, you will report to the Construction Manager / Project Manager and your responsibilities will include:

• Manage and supervise electrical construction work on Solar PV, BESS, 33kV/HV installations and overhead transmission lines.
• Plan and coordinate electrical activities in accordance with the schedule, budget, technical specifications and contractual requirements.
• Supervise the installation of electrical equipment: cables, transformers, switchgear, inverters, PCS, protection systems and grounding.
• Supervise electrical teams, subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure coordination with other trades.
• Ensure the quality and HSE compliance of the work, in particular through inspections, tests, PTW/LOTO procedures and NCR management.
• Supervise FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up and energizing of equipment.
• Monitor the progress, resources, costs, reporting and risks of the project.
• Coordinate exchanges with network operators, authorities, OEMs and stakeholders for permits and connection.
• Prepare and oversee the handover to the O&M teams, including technical documentation, training and job closure.

Desired profile:

• You hold a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, ideally specializing in Power Systems
• You have at least 8 years of experience in electrical construction, including solid experience in Solar PV utility-scale.
• You have at least 2 years of experience on BESS projects, as well as in 33kV/HV installations and transmission lines.
• You are proficient in the main electrical equipment and systems, including transformers, switchgear, inverters, PCS, protection and SCADA.
• You are proficient in the installation, testing, commissioning and start-up of electrical equipment.
• You have proven experience in team management, subcontractor management and EPC packages.
• You are proficient in HSE, PTW, LOTO and HT/HV work procedures.
• You are proficient in planning tools and techniques such as MS Project/Primavera, AutoCAD, ETAP orDIgSILENT.
• You have advanced English (minimum B2/C1).
• You demonstrate leadership, rigor, organization and decision-making ability in a construction site environment.
