Your work environment at EXP

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Coordinator to support the successful delivery of land development and civil infrastructure projects in the Calgary area. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, technical knowledge of civil construction, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Coordinate day-to-day construction activities for land development projects (grading, underground utilities, roadworks, etc.)
  • Assist Project Managers and Site Supervisors with planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Track project progress, budgets, and timelines; identify and communicate potential risks
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, municipalities, and utility providers
  • Review drawings, specifications, and permits to ensure compliance
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Support procurement of materials and subcontractor coordination
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards

What your experience looks like

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in civil construction or land development projects
  • Strong understanding of municipal servicing (water, sanitary, storm), earthworks, and road construction
  • Familiarity with local Calgary and Alberta construction standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites

Preferred / Assets

  • Experience working with developers, municipalities, or consulting engineers
  • Knowledge of permitting and approvals processes in Alberta
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
