Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a Construction Compliance Coordinator to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Construction Compliance Coordinator supports the Construction Business Unit with project compliance tracking, reporting, and construction coordination. The position’s primary initial assignment will be supporting prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA) obligations for upcoming projects through documentation, payroll data review, apprenticeship tracking, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractors.

Working under the direction of the Business Manager, this position will also assist with project controls, procurement, and field support as assigned. The role provides exposure to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects and an opportunity to develop a career in heavy industrial construction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with establishing and maintaining project compliance files, tracking logs, submission schedules, and reporting tools.
  • Collect payroll records, certified payroll reports where required, apprenticeship documentation, and supporting records from Audubon teams and subcontractors.
  • Review submissions for completeness and consistency with established project requirements. Identify discrepancies and follow up on missing or corrected information.
  • Maintain records of applicable wage determinations, craft classifications, wage and fringe benefit information, and supporting documentation.
  • Track apprentice labor hours, participation, and applicable ratios against established project requirements. Report potential shortfalls or discrepancies to the Business Manager and designated compliance personnel.
  • Maintain apprentice registration records, program documentation, apprentice requests, responses, and related correspondence.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors regarding documentation requirements, submission deadlines, and outstanding items.
  • Upload, maintain, and reconcile information within the designated compliance tracking system.
  • Prepare weekly status reports identifying submissions received, missing documentation, potential compliance concerns, and open corrective actions.
  • Support compliance reviews, audits, and project closeout by maintaining organized and accessible records.
  • Protect confidential employee, payroll, and subcontractor information.
  • Construction and Project Support
  • Assist with collecting and organizing project data for cost control, productivity tracking, earned value reporting, and management reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, field administrators, and craft supervision to obtain information and follow up on assigned actions.
  • Follow company and project safety requirements and support safety documentation as assigned.
  • Perform related administrative duties while maintaining priority on assigned PWA responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheet maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage recurring deadlines and follow up professionally with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Willingness to learn construction workflows, payroll reporting, and project compliance requirements.

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or relevant coursework, in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience through internships, coursework, or employment in construction administration, payroll support, project controls, procurement, or document control.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements, apprenticeship programs, or certified payroll reporting.
  • Experience with LCPtracker, ADP, Acumatica, or similar systems.
  • Exposure to construction software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or Primavera P6.
