Job Description

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Claims Consultant (Grade 7–8) to join our Contract Solutions team. This position supports the evaluation and resolution of construction claims across a variety of infrastructure projects, with a focus on delay analysis, damages assessment, and contract-based entitlement evaluation.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced claims professionals to analyze complex project records, including schedules, cost data, and contract documents, to support defensible, well-documented claim assessments. You will also contribute to proactive project controls efforts, including CPM scheduling, schedule reviews, and change management support during active projects.

This position is primarily remote, with a minimum expectation of one day per week in a local Arcadis office to support collaboration and team development.

Role Responsibilities

  • Claims Analysis & Support
    • Assist in the evaluation of construction claims, including entitlement, causation, and damages.
    • Review contract documents, change orders, and project records to support claim analysis and dispute resolution.
    • Analyze contractor submissions to identify strengths, weaknesses, and documentation gaps.
  • Schedule & Delay Analysis
    • Perform forensic schedule analyses using CPM methodologies (e.g., Time Impact Analysis, windows analysis, as-planned vs. as-built).
    • Develop and review Primavera P6 schedules, updates, and schedule metrics.
    • Support delay quantification, critical path evaluation, and attribution of responsibility.
  • Damages & Cost Evaluation
    • Assist in the review and assessment of claimed costs related to delays, disruptions, and changes (e.g., labor inefficiencies, extended conditions).
    • Contribute to the preparation of cost/damages analyses and supporting documentation.
  • Project Controls & Advisory Support
    • Support CPM schedule development, updates, and progress tracking.
    • Assist with schedule reviews, risk identification, and change management during project execution.
    • Participate in proactive claims mitigation and project controls tasks.
  • Reporting & Client Support
    • Prepare technical analyses, reports, and presentations for internal and client-facing use.
    • Assist in developing clear, well-supported findings suitable for negotiation or dispute resolution.

Key Attributes of the Candidate

  • Construction Knowledge
    • Strong familiarity with how construction projects are executed, preferably including field experience
    • Understanding of project lifecycle from planning through closeout.
  • Technical & Analytical Capability
    • Strong understanding of construction practices, sequencing, and contractor means and methods.
    • Ability to interpret construction contracts and apply them to factual scenarios.
    • Solid analytical skills with attention to detail and organization.
  • Relevant Experience & Tools
    • Minimum 3+ years of experience in construction, project controls, scheduling, or claims analysis.
    • Proficiency with Primavera P6 (required).
    • Experience in CPM scheduling, project management, and/or contract change management
    • Exposure to delay analysis and/or claims evaluation is highly desirable.
  • Education & Credentials
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
    • At least one relevant professional certification (PE, CCM, PMP, PSP, AIA).
  • Communication & Professional Skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing clear and concise reports.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with clients.
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
