Job Description

You prioritise the safety of yourself and others at work, both physically and mentally.

You've been developing your skills and are ready to work on projects that matter to the people of NSW. You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.

In this role, you'll:

  • Perform Carpentry Trade Activities including the construction and maintenance of bridge structures across the region
  • Daily duties will include, but not limited to: steel element replacements, falsework and formwork, bearing and joint replacements and timber bridge maintenance and construction
  • Be able to work autonomously with limited supervision and be able to think on your feet to resolve issues
  • Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
  • Travel throughout the region and camp away from home, Monday to Friday, up to 90% on the year
  • Work a 9-day fortnight roster

About you

  • You are a Trades Qualified Carpenter that enjoys working a high performing team and who enjoys a challenging and rewarding career
  • You must have at least 12 months of experience in either bridge maintenance and construction or a civil construction environment
  • You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.

You must hold the following licenses and tickets and one of the listed qualifications:

Licence and Tickets

  • White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Be able to work at heights

Qualifications

  • Carpenter and Joiner
  • Construction Carpenter
  • Bridge and Wharf Carpenter
  • Civil Engineering Construction Carpenter
  • or equivalent

We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100km distance from the Wagga Wagga depot.
