The opportunity

The Construction Assurance Advisor is responsible for supporting the development of a culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This role overseeing Hindmarsh’s quality assurance systems to ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved designs, contractual requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry standards. This role supports project governance by conducting inspections and compliance reviews to ensure site teams are supported to deliver works on site that comply with NCC, Australian standards, Product installation guidelines and HCA Quality requirements.

Reporting to the National SQE Manager, you will:

  • Promote awareness of quality standards and compliance obligations across construction teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on quality and compliance matters.
  • Review and provide expert advice on Hindmarsh’s certified and audited quality assurance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant regulatory or certification requirements.
  • Develop and implement formal standards, procedures, and regulatory codes applicable to construction projects.
  • Deliver and coordinate in house and external quality assurance and business improvement training for project team members.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of critical quality impacting construction activities.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to quality management systems.
  • Review and validate Subcontractor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and construction records.

Required skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 10 + years of commercial construction experience in a variety of sectors and project values, inclusive of 5 years' experience in construction quality management.
  • Demonstrated experience in Class 2 and/or Class 3 Buildings
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or managing certified quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
  • Experience liaising with certification bodies and managing external audits
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies, standards and codes of practice
  • Advanced knowledge of ISO and OFSC management systems, Audit criteria and Building Codes
