Today, the NFF advances forest resiliency, healthy watersheds and wildlife habitat, and recreation for all by working with communities and organizations across the country. The Foundation has grown significantly in the last few years in programmatic impact, revenue and support, and organizational capacity. NFF leads with impact, deploying roughly 90% of its expenses towards projects and programs across the country’s 193-million-acre National Forest System. Position Function: The Conservation Program Assistant – Mountain West Region reports to the Associate Vice President of the Mountain West Region and will work closely with Regional Directors of Field Programs within the Region. The Assistant will provide analysis and insight for the Mt. West team into current programmatic and administrative processes across teams, providing recommendations and implementation strategies for improving efficiencies and developing collaborative, cross- team needs. The Assistant will implement improved process recommendations including but not limited to, federal and nonfederal budget and reporting tracking systems, data management and metrics tracking, procurement systems and processes, as well as working across teams to coordinate priority meeting and event logistics and supporting internal and external communications development.
The Conservation Program Assistant may also support the administration and coordination of collaborative and partnership efforts, as needed. This work requires close coordination across NFF teams, the U.S. Forest Service, community organizations, and implementation partners to accomplish identified goals and activities across NFF’s Mountain West Region Program.

Location: The location for this position is flexible throughout the Mountain West Region States (ID, MT, WY, UT, CO, AZ, and NM). This position is a remote/work-from-home position and requires reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.
Compensation: NFF offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our total rewards strategy. The starting salary range for this position is $63,000 to $77,000, with the ability to grow to $91,000 based on performance outcomes over time and assessed annually. ?NFF monitors mandated state minimum wage updates.? Individual state conditions will be honored during the offer process. ?
