Dans ce rôle, vous serez responsable de la préparation d’estimations de coûts précises, de relevés quantitatifs, de plans de coûts, de budgets et de documents d’appel d’offres pour des projets de construction. Vous appuierez la planification des projets, l’approvisionnement, le contrôle des coûts, l’administration des contrats et la production de rapports financiers afin d’assurer le respect des budgets approuvés et l’atteinte des objectifs des clients.
Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec les clients, les gestionnaires de projet, les architectes, les ingénieurs, les propriétaires, les entrepreneurs et les autres parties prenantes, en fournissant des conseils stratégiques en gestion des coûts et en matière commerciale afin de soutenir une prise de décision éclairée et la réussite des projets.
Responsabilités principales:
Préparer des relevés quantitatifs détaillés à partir des plans, devis et autres documents de projet.
Élaborer des estimations de coûts conceptuelles, de pré-construction et détaillées.
Analyser les plans et devis afin d’évaluer les coûts de main-d’œuvre, de matériaux, d’équipement et de sous-traitance.
Solliciter, examiner et évaluer les soumissions des sous-traitants et fournisseurs.
Identifier les risques et les opportunités ayant une incidence sur les coûts des projets.
Assurer le suivi des budgets et des coûts tout au long du cycle de vie des projets.
Préparer des plans de coûts, des prévisions de flux monétaires, des échéanciers de projet et des rapports budgétaires.
Évaluer les ordres de changement et les variations contractuelles.
Participer aux Analyses de la valeur afin d’optimiser les coûts des projets.
Examiner et valider les demandes de paiement des entrepreneurs et sous-traitants.
Collaborer étroitement avec les gestionnaires de projets, ingénieurs, architectes et clients.
Participer aux réunions de projet et fournir un soutien sur les enjeux commerciaux et contractuels.
Préparer des rapports de coûts de projet et des sommaires exécutifs.
Collaborer avec les parties prenantes internes et externes pour préparer, rédiger et émettre les rapports requis.
Veiller au respect des procédures de l’entreprise, des exigences contractuelles et des normes de l’industrie.
Qualifications principales:
Baccalauréat, diplôme universitaire ou diplôme technique en économie de la construction, gestion de la construction, architecture, génie civil, sciences du bâtiment ou dans un domaine connexe.
Titre professionnel ou démarche active vers une accréditation telle que ÉCA, ECCQ ou RICS.
Expérience pertinente en estimation de construction et en gestion des coûts.
Excellente connaissance des normes de l’Institut canadien des économistes en construction (ICÉC) relatives au format des estimations, aux méthodes de relevé des quantités (par éléments et par corps de métier) et à l’établissement des coûts, ainsi que des conditions contractuelles normalisées du CCDC.
Bonne connaissance des méthodes de construction, des matériaux et des pratiques de l’industrie.
Solides compétences en relevés quantitatifs et en estimation.
Bonne compréhension des contrats de construction et des processus d’approvisionnement.
Excellentes aptitudes analytiques et numériques.
Capacité à gérer simultanément plusieurs projets et à respecter des échéanciers serrés.
Souci marqué du détail et de l’exactitude.
Maîtrise de logiciel d’estimation (Tel que CostX, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, ou autre).
Connaissance avancée de la suite Microsoft Office, notamment Excel et Word

As a result of accelerated growth, Altus is looking for a new Quantity Surveyor with pre-construction and construction stage expertise. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team and work on high-profile, complex construction projects across a diverse range of sectors, including mixed-use developments, commercial and office buildings, institutional facilities, government projects and infrastructure, as well as residential developments. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will be involved throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, contributing to the successful delivery of projects that shape communities and the built environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, cost plans, budgets, and tender submissions for construction projects. You will support project planning, procurement, cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting to help ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and meet client objectives. You will collaborate closely with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and other project stakeholders, providing cost and commercial advice to support informed decision-making and the successful achievement of project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
Develop conceptual, pre-construction, and detailed cost estimates.
Analyze project plans and specifications to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Identify project risks and opportunities affecting project costs.
Monitor project budgets and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare cost plans, cash flow forecasts, project schedules and budget reports.
Evaluate change orders and variations.
Assist in value engineering exercises to optimize project costs.
Review and validate contractor and subcontractor payment applications.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
Attend project meetings and provide commercial input.
Prepare project cost reports and executive summaries.
Collaborate with internal/external partners to prepare, write and issue reports
Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor or technology degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, building science or a related field.
Professional accreditation or working towards membership such as PQS, ECCQ, RICS.
Experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or cost management.
Strong knowledge of CIQS standard method of measurement, both elemental and trade, provincial lien acts, and CCDC standard contract conditions
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
Strong quantity take-off and estimating skills.
Understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with an estimating software (such as CostX, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift, etc.).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
