The Strategy Validation Quality Assurance role is responsible for end-to-end QA validation of change initiatives impacting the Strategy Decision Engine (SDE). This role requires a combination of advanced technical expertise, critical thinking, and strong business acumen to independently assess requirements, design comprehensive testing, and determine whether changes are implemented accurately and perform as intended.

The analyst will review and challenge Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), identify gaps, ambiguities, and potential implementation risks, and partner with change owners to strengthen requirements prior to testing. The analyst will then translate requirements into comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and requirements traceability matrices to ensure complete test coverage.

A significant technical component of the role includes reviewing, understanding, troubleshooting, and modifying complex, macro-driven SAS code, as well as developing independent adhoc SAS programs to validate results, investigate discrepancies, and identify defects.

The role supports Strategy Decision Engine changes across Consumer Card, Home Loans, and Small Business portfolios and requires the ability to become a subject matter expert across multiple products, strategies, processes, and data structures. The analyst must be able to independently manage multiple complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and critically assess BRDs to identify gaps, inconsistencies, unclear requirements, testing risks, and potential unintended impacts before implementation.
  • Challenge requirements and partner with Strategy Owners and change teams to ensure business intent is clearly defined, measurable, and testable.
  • Independently develop comprehensive Test Plans, Scripts, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) to validate end-to-end requirements.
  • Review and interpret complex existing SAS programs, including macro-driven code, to understand current strategy and validation logic.
  • Modify and enhance existing SAS code to support new strategy requirements and testing needs.
  • Develop independent adhoc SAS programs to validate results, reconcile data, investigate anomalies, and confirm implementation accuracy.
  • Analyze testing results and perform root-cause analysis to determine whether discrepancies are driven by requirements, data, coding, strategy logic, or implementation.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and support remediation of defects identified throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Work across multiple data sources, products, and strategy environments to ensure comprehensive end-to-end validation.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Technology, Risk, Operations, and other stakeholders to support accurate implementation of SDE changes.
