Job Description

As The Daily Wire’s Congressional Reporter, you will deliver original, in-depth news coverage straight from Capitol Hill, focusing on key developments in politics, policy, and the issues driving the national conversation. Your work will span both written reporting and on-air contributions, with regular appearances on flagship Daily Wire programs like Morning Wire, bringing clarity, context, and compelling storytelling to our audience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships in the U.S. Senate and House to produce original reporting for The Daily Wire
  • Produce original news for The Daily Wire based on stories assigned or approved by the Washington Editor, Editor-In-Chief, or authorized editors
  • Report on stories in on-camera news media interviews or other video formats, both internal and external

Experience & Requirements

  • 4 years or more of experience as a news reporter
  • Smooth, compelling, and precise writing style
  • Strong ability to interview people and dig for information
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of the political editorial landscape and the audience of our publication
  • Knowledge of Congress: how committees work, how legislation is drafted, who the key players are, etc.
  • A willingness and ability to spend time on the Hill, cultivating sources with lawmakers and staffers and keeping an ear to the ground for developing stories
