About the Role

TheConflicts Analyst reports to Conflicts Managerand supports the Global Business Acceptance Team tofacilitate the on-boarding of new legal business and the prevention of accepting conflicting workor work that would pose a business acceptance risk.This role will be working on a remote basis between the hours of 14:0022:30Primary responsibilities include:

  • Validating information providedin relationtonew workby liaising with fee earners to clarify and obtain more information as appropriate
  • Undertaking database searches and ensuring accuracy and completeness is paramount
  • Reviewing andanalysingat times complex search results from information in the firm's conflict system and other internal or external systems in order to ascertain if there could be a conflict of interestor other business acceptance risk
  • Liaisingwith fee earners to highlight or identify any potentialconflictsof interest relating to new matters and clients across all practice areas of the firm
  • Escalatingany complex / challenging conflict situations to theConflictsManager for discussion
  • Undertakingany additionalresearchrequired using internal and external resources as necessary
  • Assistingin the set-up and maintenance of information barriers
  • Developingcurrent knowledge of the legal/regulatory/commercial requirements relevant to theGlobalBusiness Acceptance Team
  • In time, assistingin the continual education of the Firm in conflicts processes and policies raising awareness generally within the firm
  • Otheradhocrequests / projects relating to New Business Acceptance / conflicts processes

EXPERIENCE

  • Over one year conflicts experience is desirable but not essential
  • A degree is desirable but not essential
  • Prior experience in legal services or professional services is desirable
  • Self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and patience
  • Keen interest in knowing the businessincludinglateral/analytical thinking
  • Excellent research andanalyticalskills
  • Abilityto use initiative with a 'can do' attitude
  • Abilityto manage andprioritisemultipletaskssimultaneously
  • Strongorganisationalskills, attention to detail, accuracy and able to work well under pressure
  • Discretion essential to preserve confidential information
  • Able to adapt to new processes and technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with all levels of legal and support staff
