About the role

As a Configuration Management Officer, you’ll support the delivery of configuration and data management activities across the JP9101 program, helping ensure product and service information remains accurate, controlled and traceable throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Working under the guidance of experienced Configuration Management professionals, you’ll maintain configuration management systems, support data remediation, manage change items and help ensure documents, parts and other configuration items are correctly recorded and structured in accordance with program plans, procedures and contractual requirements.

You’ll also play an important role in supporting technical and engineering governance, including coordinating review boards, preparing agendas and minutes, tracking approvals and signatures, and generating configuration status reports.

You’ll contribute to Functional and Physical Configuration Audits, technical documentation, risk assessments and process improvement activities, while working collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to resolve issues, improve data integrity and ensure configuration management processes are consistently applied across the program.

About you

You’ll bring a methodical and detail-oriented approach, with an ability to manage information accurately and follow established processes and standards.

Experience in configuration management, data management, engineering administration, document control or a similar technical environment will be highly regarded, along with an understanding of engineering lifecycles, technical documentation and the importance of maintaining accurate and traceable records.

Strong organisational and communication skills will be important, as you’ll work closely with technical teams, project stakeholders and customers to support configuration activities and resolve issues.

You’ll be proactive in seeking opportunities to improve processes, share knowledge and develop your technical capability, while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance and Babcock’s values. The role may also require occasional interstate or intrastate travel to support project activities.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

  • Understanding applicable Engineering Toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
  • Previous experience working as Configuration Officer or in engineering support roles.
  • Hold a technical qualification (certificate or associated degree) in related discipline.
  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
