Job Overview

The purpose is to support configuration management activities to ensure NASA’s design and data management system runs efficiently.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist in maintaining configuration control of projects, facilities, systems, subsystems, components, engineering drawings, operational procedures, safety analyses, and any other related information utilizing NASA’s design and data management system. Ensure processes are being followed by performing audits.
  • Activities include support to configuration management boards and sub-boards, cross organization, and contractor coordination for planning, system, and documentation auditing, review, problem identification, and resolution.
  • Change management activities include, but not limited to, sending out change packages for review, scheduling meetings, creating promotion requests, change notices, change activities, auditing, and releasing design and as-built packages.
  • Support the Material and Process Control Board with releasing Material Usage Agreements and providing minutes.
  • Occasionally perform field audits to validate/edit database data.
  • Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years verifiable professional experience in a related field, or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 2 years verifiable professional experience, or master’s degree with 1 year of verifiable professional experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and the Microsoft Software Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Preferred experience with PTC’s Windchill Software.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire.
  • Must be able to communicate wffectively in the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID Enhanced driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen test.
  • Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.
  • Will ensure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as ensuring areas worked are clean, neat, and ready for customer needs when complete.

Working Conditions:

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter test area test facilities; crawl, climb, etc.
  • Potential exposure to risk such as cryogenic, electrical hazards, heights, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.
  • Must meet and be able to maintain all certifications requirements required for work.
