Job Description

  • Location: Gold Coast, QLD
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience
  • We are seeking a skilled and motivated Concrete Labourer to join our team on the Gold Coast, QLD. As a Concrete Labourer, you will be responsible for all provisions and preparations needed by the site Foreman to complete each job safely, efficiently, and successfully. Projects range from large commercial buildings and house slabs to driveways and footpaths.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Operation:
  • Set up and operate equipment including laser levels, fuel-powered floor finishers, vibrators, and generators.
  • Use hand tools such as sledgehammers, bolt cutters, hand saws, trowels, edgers, slab brooms, bull floats, stick trowels, steel wheel, and wire cutters.
  • Operate fuel and battery-powered tools including jackhammers, disc and angle grinders, impact drills, and hammer drills.
  • Site Preparation:
  • Read and interpret site plans and pod layout plans.
  • Prepare and layout all formwork including shutters, boxing timbers, brackets, star pickets, and bracing.
  • Accurately layout waffle pods, place spacers and suspension chairs.
  • Install trench mesh, steel bars (12-20mm), steel mesh sheets, Z-bars, corner bars, and trench cages.
  • Concrete Assistance:
  • Assist Concreters with concrete pouring, including raking, leveling, screening, bull floating, edging, brick base making, and stick troweling.
  • Strip all formwork and boxing, including scraping, carrying, and packing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment upon job completion.
  • Site Cleanup:
  • Perform final site cleanup to ensure a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in concrete work or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to concrete labour.
  • Ability to read and interpret site and pod layout plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
