Wastewater / Heavy Civil Superintendent – Direct Hire

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Wastewater / Heavy Civil Superintendent to oversee field operations on water/wastewater infrastructure, concrete restoration, coatings, and rehabilitation projects. This role will lead crews, coordinate field activities, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule in active wastewater and infrastructure environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lift stations, pumping systems, bypass operations, piping installation, concrete restoration, coatings, and infrastructure repair projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews on water/wastewater, infrastructure repair, and rehabilitation projects
• Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and daily jobsite activities
• Oversee lift station work including pumps, valves, force mains, wet wells, and mechanical piping systems
• Manage bypass pumping systems during active construction operations
• Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and according to project specifications
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and contractors
• Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
• Support startup, testing, commissioning, and return-to-service activities
• Maintain jobsite safety compliance including confined space entry and LOTO procedures
• Prepare daily reports, documentation, and progress updates

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of field experience with CCR, 7 years of field experience with CROM, OR equivalent construction experience within the water/wastewater, infrastructure repair, and/or coatings industry
• 8+ years of overall experience in water/wastewater or heavy civil construction environments
• 3–5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman
• Strong understanding of lift stations, pumps, force mains, valves, wet wells, and wastewater systems
• Experience working in active wastewater facilities that must remain operational during construction
• Experience overseeing bypass pumping and temporary flow management systems
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to piping installation and system modifications
• Thorough understanding of confined space entry, LOTO, and wastewater safety standards
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with concrete restoration, rehabilitation, and protective coatings
• AMPP (Coatings) and/or ACI (Concrete) certifications
• Experience with startup, testing, and commissioning activities

• Combination of field and office responsibilities
• Active construction and wastewater treatment environments
• Exposure to outdoor conditions, confined spaces, noise, and varying weather
• Travel with overnight stays may be required
