Job Title CONCRETE SITE FOREMAN - BRISBANE, GOLD COAST
About the role:
Our client, is seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Foreman for our Gold Coast operations. This role requires a professional with a strong background in concrete work and the ability to manage site operations efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Duties:
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate and manage the concrete team, delegating tasks and providing guidance.
- Monitor project progress, addressing any issues to maintain timelines and quality standards.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, including labor and materials used.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure high standards of workmanship and safety.
Concrete Work Understanding:
- Knowledge of site preparation and setup for various concrete projects, including commercial buildings, house slabs, driveways, and footpaths.
- Familiarity with operating equipment such as laser levels, floor finishers, vibrators, and generators.
- Ability to read and interpret site and pod layout plans.
- Experience with hand tools (sledgehammer, bolt cutters, hand saws, trowels, etc.) and power tools (jackhammers, grinders, drills).
- Understanding of formwork layout, including shutters, boxing timbers, brackets, and bracing.
- Skills in waffle pod layout, spacer, and suspension chair placement.
- Installation of trench mesh, steel bar, steel mesh sheets, Z-bar, corner bar, and trench cage.
- Assistance in concrete pouring activities, including raking, leveling, screeding, bull floating, edging, and troweling.
- Knowledge of stripping formwork and boxing, ensuring cleanliness and proper storage of tools and equipment.
- Conducting final site clean-up post-project completion.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Concrete Foreman with a strong understanding of concrete work.
- Certificate III in Concreting: Vocational training specific to concreting.
- White Card: Mandatory general construction induction training.
- Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Training: Safety training specific to the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and layout designs.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety regulations.
