LOCATION: West Texas (Orla, TX to Big Spring, TX)

TYPE: Full-Time / Traveling Project

CONTEXT: Seeking a skilled Concrete Plant & Fleet Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile concrete batch plants and ready-mix truck fleets across West Texas. This role requires routine travel throughout the Orla to Big Spring region to minimize downtime, enforce strict safety standards, and ensure operational efficiency for dynamic job sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting, and major/minor repairs on ready-mix trucks, mixer drums, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and heavy-duty chassis.
• Maintain, repair, and optimize mobile concrete batch plants, including conveyors, aggregate bins, weigh hoppers, air compressors, water systems, and electrical/pneumatic controls.
• Assist with the mechanical assembly, tear-down, calibration, and site-to-site relocation of mobile plant equipment.
• Respond promptly to field breakdowns to execute emergency repairs and keep concrete production on schedule.
• Adhere to all OSHA, DOT, and company safety protocols while maintaining complete service logs, inspection reports, and inventory records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years maintaining heavy equipment, diesel fleets, or concrete batch plants.
• Strong diagnostic and repair knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, 12V/24V electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Proficient in stick and MIG welding for structural plant repairs, hopper maintenance, and mixer drum touch-ups.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL Class A or B is highly preferred).
• Willingness to travel continuously along the West Texas corridor from Orla to Big Spring.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work outdoors in extreme West Texas weather conditions, and perform work at heights or in confined spaces.
