Job Description

The Concrete Paving Estimator is responsible for developing competitive estimates for concrete paving projects, including highways, municipal roads, intersections, paving rehabilitation, and related concrete construction work.

Key Responsibilities

• Review paving plans, specifications, and bid requirements.
• Complete detailed quantity takeoffs for pavement, curb and gutter, barriers, sidewalks, and miscellaneous concrete items.
• Develop production-based cost estimates for paving crews and equipment.
• Coordinate pricing for concrete materials, trucking, and subcontractors.
• Analyze constructability, sequencing, and production risks.
• Assist with bid strategy, estimate reviews, and project turnover.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate production assumptions.

Preferred Experience

• Heavy highway concrete paving experience.
• Understanding of paving operations, slip-form paving, and concrete production.
• Familiarity with MoDOT & KDOT paving specifications.
• Experience estimating self-performed concrete work.
