Position Summary

The Concrete Batcher is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient production of concrete through the operation of automated and manual batching systems. This role monitors and controls concrete mix designs, maintains material inventories, orders raw materials, and ensures production requirements are met while adhering to quality standards. The Batcher troubleshoots equipment, material, and mix issues, maintains accurate production records, and supports continuous plant operations. Working with minimal supervision, the incumbent provides guidance to team members as required and contributes to a safe, productive, and team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Must fully operate automated and manual concrete batching plants with efficiency.
  • Must be familiar with concrete batching software, such us CommandAlkon, CompoNET or similar.
  • Perform inventory functions as required, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Order batching materials as required, with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoots problems with concrete mixes, material and mechanical parts of the batch unit.
  • Request mix design from computer data files and batch concrete with specified slumps as required by production.
  • Record and maintain documentation related to daily concrete production.
  • Good knowledge of: Admixes, pigments W/C ratios.
  • Train, lead, guide and direct the work of others.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in industrial environments.
  • Successful applicants will be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accurate and highly analytical.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job you are regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, lift, climb, push-pull, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, and stoop.
  • May require working in hot (32C) and cold (-25C) temperatures.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry objects up to 50 to 100 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools.
  • Overtime as required.

Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000
