Job Description

The Concierge at Meadowview plays an important role in creating a high-end, resident-focused environment, as he or she is the first point of contact for many of our visitors. As such, a special emphasis is placed on exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. As part of daily responsibilities, the Concierge greets and directs all visitors/callers and also provides both administrative and clerical support to a number of members of the Meadowview team. A congenial, friendly disposition is a must, as are strong organizational skills.

Job duties include:

  • Answers all telephone calls in a prompt, courteous and competent manner. Forwards telephone calls or takes messages, as appropriate. Ensures delivery of messages to appropriate individual(s) in a timely manner.
  • Cheerfully greets and appropriately directs all residents and visitors.
  • Monitors the Personal Emergency Response System and is responsible for generating appropriate reports as requested.
  • Acts as the Response Team Coordinator stationed at the concierge desk during Code Red and other emergency situations, including drills, and follows the accepted and enforced campus policy procedures.
  • Coordinates delivery of resident services. Initiation and installation of services includes, but is not limited to, beautician services, nail care, newspaper delivery, telephone services, laundry services, resident mail, transportation, and gift shop services.
  • Assists Resident Services Supervisor with regard to informing residents of available neighborhood programs and events if necessary.
  • Assists residents to access campus services. Prepares appropriate paperwork for scheduling and billing, as necessary, for approval by Resident Services Supervisor.
  • Documents all customer concerns/complaints/suggestions/issues on the appropriate forms or emails. Forwards to the Residential Services Supervisor for appropriate action and resolution
  • Ensures safety and security of residents and environment. Reports suspicious person/information to Supervisor immediately. Appropriately contacts security and/or 911 for emergency assistance.
  • Provides clerical support to the Administrator, Resident Services Supervisor, and Residential Services Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to, typing, report generating, opening/sorting resident and staff mail, copying, filing, faxing, function reservation forms, catering requests, and preparation of annual/monthly/weekly calendars for the Enriched Housing Program and Lohman Village.
  • Reviews Daily Activity/Communication/Maintenance logs each afternoon/evening to follow up, if necessary, on events that occurred on the previous day or earlier shift.
  • Enters Maintenance work requests into the Access database. Files requests in the Maintenance log. Follows up directly with the engineering department on requests that are not addressed in a timely manner or that pose a safety issue.
  • Maintains and develops work-related knowledge and skills through continuous learning activities, attendance at inservices and workshops, etc.
  • Completes special projects/tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

As person-centered care is prized in our facility, Concierges must be able to perform all of their duties in a caring, flexible, personalized manner. A love of working with Seniors/those with disabilities and a passion for bringing healing and hope to the lives of residents and their loved ones is a must. Furthermore, a positive attitude and pleasant disposition is essential. Concierges must be able to work cooperatively with other staff. Dependability, accountability, and integrity are necessary for effective performance.

A High School diploma is required as is 1 year of experience in a customer service related setting.
