This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.

We are seeking a Concessions Manager to lead the team and logistics of our concessions operations at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens located in Dallas, TX. This position will be responsible for supervising day-to-day planning, oversight of all concessions areas, and coordination with 3rd-party partners. The ideal candidate has experience in large-scale concessions operations and is a hands-on leader with a focus on team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and effectively managing day-to-day operational duties to ensure all functions run smoothly from start to finish.
  • Responsible for communication between Proof of the Pudding and the client; serves as the first point of contact for all inquiries from the center and is responsible for nurturing this relationship.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; and maintaining security systems.
  • Meets venue financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
  • Communicating financial statements, P&L reports, and other requested documents to Proof of the Pudding Corporate.
  • Managing and developing the leadership team by encouraging growth, mentorship, and ongoing development for managers and hourly staff.
  • Organizing frequent meetings and maintaining open lines of communication with sales, operations, concessions, and culinary teams to ensure seamless daily coordination.
  • Managing existing and creating new relationships with 3rd-party vendors, recruiting new partnerships, and overseeing contract negotiations and the onboarding process of subcontractors.
  • Setting and upholding operational standards for staff, including uniform expectations, customer service policies, consistency in service presentation, and fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Responsible for all ordering, logistics, and oversight of warehouse inventory and supply management.
  • Managing the team responsible for daily operations; leading by example and developing employees to reach their full potential.
  • Supporting operational needs on-site to ensure smooth coordination of daily activities, including set-up, service flow, and closing procedures.
  • Enhances department and organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to operations.

Performs other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Hospitality, Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Food and Beverage Operations and/or concessions.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Dallas, TX.

Specialized Qualifications:

  • Budgeting and/or financial focused mindset
  • Team building & leadership
  • Hands on leader with drive to get the job done
  • Knowledge of POS systems and processes, preferably Square

Work Environment

The work environment for this position will be a variation of office work and day-to-day operations and movement. This position will often move throughout the gardens. Events may take place in indoor or outdoor settings.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving throughout a kitchen and venue, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30 lbs.
