Job Location Omaha Zoo - Omaha, NE 68107 Position Type Part Time

Job Title: Concessions Delivery Driver

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Hours: Part-time with a tentative end date in late fall/early winter, pending business operations and individual performance (flexible schedule available with a minimum of 24 hours per week including weekends and holidays). This position has two schedules: Thursday - Saturday or Sunday - Wednesday. More hours may be available upon request.

Wage: $15.25/hour

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Concessions Delivery Driver to ensure that all concession stands and portable carts are stocked with product throughout the day. Each delivery person is assigned a radio, and they must be able to answer the radio promptly and deliver product in a timely manner to the location that is in need of product. This position reports directly to the Concessions Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

  • Filling all food and supply requisitions for the concessions department
  • Maintain cleanliness of all areas including buildings, carts and grounds.
  • Must check golf carts before driving them for the day which includes: a visual inspection, checking the oil, checking the gas and recording this information along with the hours on the cart.
  • Ability to fill all vending machines on property for the public and for employees.
  • Help with special activities when needed and other duties as assigned.
  • Must have the ability to work well with employees and the public under little supervision.
  • Must present a positive image of the Zoo at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 24 hours each week including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to provide friendly, approachable, and courteous service to guests in all interactions.
  • Ability to work outside.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

Candidates might be required to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and possess a valid drivers license with a good history.

Food Handler Permit Requirement:

As of February 1, 2026: All food and beverage employees at the Zoo must possess an active Food Handler Permit registered with the Douglas County Health Department at time of hire, or must successfully complete Food Handler training and obtain a certificate within 30 days of employment. 

Training is provided onsite at the Zoo and is paid at the employee's regular hourly rate. The Zoo will cover the certification fee ($20) for the employee's initial certification attempt. Any additional attempts required to obtain certification will be at the employee's expense. Failure to demonstrate or obtain the required certification within the specified timeframe is a violation of health code requirements and will result in termination. 



Experience:

  • Previous warehouse experience helpful but not required.
  • Prior guest service experience preferred but not required.

Working Environment/Physical Effort:

Work is performed mostly outdoors, so employee must be able to adapt to all kinds of weather. However, the employee will be going in and out of climate controlled environments throughout the day. Must wear closed toe shoes. While in performance of job duties, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, signal and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch and/or crawl; talk and hear; required to sit with hands and legs inside the golf cart at all times, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, sometimes more using safe and proper methods.
