Conceptual Designer
Strategic / Conceptual Design
About the Role
We are seeking a Conceptual Designer to create high-quality visual design and conceptual work
that supports user-centric experiences, business objectives, and brand standards across
enterprise-wide projects. This role acts as a bridge between the UX Design and Conceptual
Design teams, translating research and strategy into compelling visual storytelling.
This position focuses on strategic, conceptual design. Unlike UX design, this work is less
structured and more conceptual. The successful candidate will have high learning agility and a
willingness to operate in a strategic, conceptual space where there are not step-by-step
instructions or rigid structure — someone who can figure things out. This is not a graphic or
production design role; it is a strategic design role that requires strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities
• Create high-quality visual designs, digital prototypes, and design collateral (digital and
print) to support user-centric experiences, business objectives, and brand standards.
• Develop and present data visualizations, concept designs, illustrations, infographics, and
analog/digital experience journey visuals.
• Advocate for human-centered design principles, integrating research insights into design
work.
• Collaborate with researchers, analysts, business leaders, and technology teams to align
design work with strategic goals.
• Effectively communicate ideas and concepts to senior leaders through clear, compelling
visual storytelling.
• Work on enterprise-wide design projects, balancing user value and business objectives.
• Act as a bridge between the UX Design and Conceptual Design teams.
Top Priorities
1. Ability to create design concepts across a multitude of fidelities, with the flexibility to pivot
between them — e.g., one day working on an app, the next creating a storyboard for an inperson
client visit to a branch.
2. Ability to conceptualize the diverse experiences of different constituencies and visualize
them in a way that people can engage with.
3. Previous experience working in a business enterprise organization. Financial Services
industry experience is not required, but a strong understanding of business and sharp
business acumen is required.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive design experience.
• Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite required.
• Strong UI/UX and print design skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, visually engaging designs.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and managing multiple priorities.
• Experience collaborating across teams and presenting to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working with AI-driven tools. Candidates do not need to be AI
experts, but they should have a strong understanding and working knowledge of AI-driven
design tools and workflows.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, UX, or a related field.
Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio is required and must be submitted at the time of application. Applicants without a
portfolio will not be considered.
Please submit your portfolio as a PDF or an accessible web link. Do not submit Google links
(e.g., Google Drive), as the hiring team is unable to open them due to security protocols.
