Job Description

About the job

Sleeper is the leading platform to connect friends over sports — sports fans can check scores, play fantasy games, chat, and more. Our flagship fantasy football product is used by 10M+ people internationally.

We reach users through product interfaces, onboarding, emails, in-app messages, and landing pages across mobile, web, and email systems. Delivering these reliably requires someone who can analyze product and business requirements, translate them into system and interface specifications, and work with designers and engineering to implement and validate them.

The Computer Systems Analyst studies Sleeper's user-facing lifecycle and product systems and gathers requirements from stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing. They translate those requirements into system specifications, interface designs, and implementation guidance — evaluating system capabilities, specifying reusable components and data structures, prototyping solutions, and validating what gets built.

Key responsibilities

  • Requirements analysis — Analyze business/product requirements and existing system behavior across mobile, web, email, and in-app lifecycle systems; identify gaps and improvement opportunities; document requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • System & interface specification — Translate requirements into system specs: reusable components, templates, data/content structures, responsive logic, and integration points with delivery platforms (e.g., Braze); document standards for their use.

  • Solution design & prototyping — Produce flows, wireframes, high-fidelity specs, and interactive prototypes defining system behavior and interaction logic before implementation.

  • Evaluation & feasibility — Assess system capabilities, constraints, and trade-offs with engineering; recommend the most efficient approach.

  • Cross-functional collaboration — Partner with Product, Lifecycle, Marketing, Engineering, and Data to turn requirements into specs and provide implementation guidance to engineers.

  • Quality & accessibility review — Review implemented systems for conformance to spec; evaluate structure, responsiveness, accessibility, and component usage; flag defects and corrections.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a closely related field.

  • Experience analyzing requirements and translating them into system/interface specifications for mobile and web products.

  • Experience developing and documenting reusable system components and standards.

  • Proficiency with specification/design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud) and ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional experience across digital product systems, design-system development, usability evaluation, and technical collaboration

  • Understanding of software constraints, information structures, and implementation processes for mobile and web systems; familiarity with accessibility and usability principles.

Benefits & Perks

This is a contract-to-hire position. Full-time employees have the following benefits:

  • 401k and health insurance

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Regular virtual game-time with the team with company-sponsored snacks

  • Company-sponsored fantasy leagues with real prizes

  • Bi-quarterly team outings and annual company retreat

Sleeper believes in quality over quantity, and intentionally keeps our team small as a result. In past roles, our team members found it very hard to make a big impact when companies grow too large in size, which has a detrimental effect on the product and the impact any single individual can have. Our team includes designers, engineers, product experts, and finance & operation focused on one thing — connecting people over sports. We believe in fair and equitable pay. Certain locations in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range and/or a general description of benefits and other compensation applicable to the role.

For this role in the greater Seattle area, a reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for full-time conversion is between $85,000 to $108,000. In addition to the base salary, this role will receive benefits + equity.

Please note that The compensation range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The policy of Sleeper is to provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, citizenship status, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status and to affirmatively seek to advance the principles of equal employment opportunity.
